Abstract
FITRIAN BILONTALO. SMS Gateway Based Monitoring System by Parents on Student Attendance (The principal supervisor is Siti Suhada, S.Kom., MT, and Co-supervisor is Nikmasari Pakaya, S.Kom., MT).
SMKN 1 Suwawa is one of the vocational hight schools which locates in Bone Bolango District with the total number of students is 480. In one day observation at the school, there Were many students who did truant during the class hour. The action has been frequently an issue between teachers and parents. Students parents found out that their children have been Actively engaged in the theaching and learning process. That is what they expect while the students did the country. The research is aimed at facilitating the school to inform the Parents regarding the absence of their children in the class. Students absence is a form of indicipline action to be decreased at school. System development applies the prototype Method through the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The research finding Revealed that SMS gateway based monitoring system by parents on student attendance is Addressed to facilitate the school to inform students parents related to student attendance. The system displays data of student attendance both in each class and as a whole.

Abstrak
SMKN 1 Suwawa merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri yang berada di Kabupaten Bone Bolango yang memiliki siswa dengan jumlah 480 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang di peroleh dari SMKN 1 Suwawa Kabupaten Bone Bolango dalam satu hari terdapat beberapa siswa melakukan bolos pada saat mata pelajaran berlangsung. Siswa-siswa melakukan bolos tersebut dikarenakan tidak mengerjakan tugas sehingga tidak mengikuti mata pelajaran berlangsung. Hal ini sering menjadi permasalahan antara pihak guru dan orang tua siswa pada saat menerima hasil raport karena orang tua siswa mengetahui anaknya mengikuti semua kegiatan pembelajaran yang ada hingga tuntas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempermudah pihak sekolah dalam menyampaikan informasi tidak hadirnya siswa dalam mengikuti mata pelajaran di sekolah kepada orang tua selain itu juga mengurangi ketidak disiplinan di sekolah. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan yaitu metodePrototype dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan database MySQL. Hasil dari penelitian ini Sistem monitoring kehadiran siswa oleh orang tua berbasis sms gateway digunakan untuk mempermudah pihak sekolah dalam menyampaikan informasi secara realtime kepada orang tua siswa terkait tingkat kehadiran anaknya disekolah.Sistem ini menampilkan data absensi siswa baik setiap kelas maupun keseluruhan
