Abstrak

Abstract QR-Code is a two-dimensional image which represents particular data, mainly in the form of the text. In addition, the QR-Code is an evolution of barcode from initially one dimension to two dimensions. The QR-Code has an ability to store much higher data than the barcode does. One of the crucial data on campus is diploma. A diploma is a document that works as authentic proof that a person has experienced formal education stage and has passed the exam. The objective of this research was to find out the process of generate and reader of QR-Code and implement it in diploma verifications apps. The research applied prototype method with the following phases: collecting necessity, developing prototype, designing prototype, coding system, testing system, evaluating the system, and operating system. The research result found that the generations process of a QR-Code was optained from the result of converting input text in numeric or alphanumeric data into a binary number, which is represented into a black and white digital image.
