Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman populasi dan dominansi gulma pada tanaman cabai keriting (Capsicum annum L) berdasarkan mulsa jerami padi, mulsa cangkang telur, dan mulsa eceng gondok. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Hulawa, Kecamatan Telaga, Kabupaten Gorontalo, Provinsi Gorontalo pada bulan Mei sampai September 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 1 faktor , yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu kontrol, mulsa jerami padi 10 ton/ha, mulsa cangkang telur 10 ton/ha, mulsa eceng gondok 10 ton/ha. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Parameter yang diamati nisbah jumlah dominansi (NJD) gulma sebelum tanam dan sesudah panen. Analisis data menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Perlakuan mulsa mampu mengurangi sebaran jenis gulma pada pertanaman cabai dari 6 jenis gulma sebelum tanam yakni Hedyotis corymbosa, Amarathus spinosus, Euphorbia Hirta, Ageratum Conyzoides L, Eleusine indica, dan Cyprus rotundus menjadi 3 jenis gulma setelah panen yakni Euphorbia hirta, Eleusine indica dan Cyperus rotundus, Perlakuan jenis mulsa jerami padi memberikan pengaruh pada penurunan dan presentase jumlah gulma.

The purpose off this study was to determine population varieties and weed dominance in chili plants ( Capsicum annum L.) based on rice straw mulch, eggshell mulch, and water hyacinth mulch. This Study was conducted in Hulawa Village, Telaga Sub-District, Gorontalo District, Gorontalo Province from may to september 2018. The study employed factorial Randomized Block Design ( RBD) with 1 factor, consisting of 4 levels, namely control, 10 tons rice straw mulch/ha, 10 tons/ha of eggshell mulch, 10 tons of water hyacinth mulch/ha. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. Parameters observed were the number of dominance ratio ( NJD) weeds before planting and after harvest ; those data further analyzed by using variance ( ANOVA). The results showed that mulch treatment was able to reduce the distribution of weed species in chili plants from 6 types of weeds before planting, ( Hedyotis corymbosa, amarathus spinosus, euphorbia hirta, ageratum conyzoides L, eleusine indica, and cyperus rotundus) to 3 types of weeds after euphorbia hirta, eleusine indica, and cyperus rotundus. The treatment types of rice straw mulch has an influence on the reduction and percentage of weeds
