Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai keriting (Capsicum annum L.) berdasarkan aplikasi mulsa jerami padi, mulsa cangkang telur dan mulsa eceng gondok. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Hulawa, Kecamatan Telaga, Kabupaten Gorontalo, pada bulan Mei Sampai Oktober 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 1 Faktor yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu Kontrol, jerami padi, cangkang telur, dan eceng gondok. Dengan dosis yang diberikan 6kg/petak. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Parameter yang diamati yakni : tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah buah pertanaman, berat buah pertanaman (gram), produksi perpetak (gram), hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mulsa jerami padi memberikan respon terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai keriting. Aplikasi mulsa jerami padi memberikan hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah buah pertanaman, berat buah pertanaman, produksi perpetak, sedangkan mulsa eceng gondok memberikkan pula hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun.
The studuy was aimed at investigating The Response of Growth and Production of curly chili (Capsicum annum L.) based on application rice straw mulch, eggshell mulch, and water hyacinth mulch. The study had been conducted in Hulawa Village, Telaga Sub-district, Gorontalo District from May to October 2018. It applied completely randomized factorial design with I factor consisting of 3 levels; control, rice straw, eggshell, water hyacinth. The dose was 6 kg/plot. Each treament was 5 times repeated.The observed parameters were height of plant (cm), number of leaves (sheet), number of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant (gram), and production per plot (gram). Findings revealed that rice straw mulch gave the response to the growth and production of curly chili. The application of the rice straw provided the best result on the height of the plant, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, the weight of fruit per plant, and production per plot. Meanwhile, the water hyacinth gave the best result on the height of the plant and the number of leaves.
