ABSTRACT
The purpose of research to determine the allocation of time to work out the corn farm and farmer characteristics influence the allocation of time working on maize farming in the district Tilongkabila Bone Bolango District. The research was conducted in May and August 2014. The method used is a survey method. Determining the location determined by purposive sampling. In this study sample as many as 78 persons corn farmers. The number of samples is determined by the formula Slovin. Analysis of the data used is HOK analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that 1) the average allocation of time working on the farm corn farmers 75.10 HOK / season and beyond maize 45.38 HOK / season. 2) Characteristics of farmers simultaneously affect the allocation of work time and partial characteristics of farmers (land) affect the allocation of working time but other farmers characteristics (age, education, family responsibility, farming experience) does not affect the allocation of work time farmers.

ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui alokasi waktu bekerja di luar usahatani jagung dan pengaruh karakteristik petani terhadap alokasi waktu kerja pada usahatani jagung di Kecamatan Tilongkabila Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Agustus 2014. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Penentuan lokasi ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Dalam sampel penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 78 orang petani jagung. Jumlah sampel ditentukan berdasarkan rumus Slovin. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis HOK dan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Rata-rata alokasi waktu kerja petani pada usahatani jagung 75,10 HOK/musim dan di luar jagung 45,38 HOK/musim. 2) Karakteristik petani secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap alokasi waktu kerja dan secara parsial karakteristik petani (luas lahan) berpengaruh pada alokasi waktu kerja namun karakteristik petani lainnya (umur, pendidikan, tanggungan keluarga, pengalaman berusahatani) tidak berpengaruh terhadap alokasi waktu kerja petani.
