Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendapatan usaha ternak sapi potong dan kelayakan usaha peternak berdasarkan skala kepemilikan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Boliyohuto, Kabupaten Gorontalo, pada bulan September sampai Oktober 2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei, dengan mengumpulkan data primer dan data sekuder. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 89 responden. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis pendapatan dan analisis kelayakan usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata pendapatan yang diperoleh pada usaha sapi potong pada skala kepemilikan 1 - 5 ekor sebesar Rp 4.436.876,- per tahun atau sebesar Rp 369.740,- per bulan, sedangkan pada skala kepemilikan 6 - 10 ekor sebesar Rp. 4.370.505,- per tahun atau sebesar Rp. 364.209,- per bulan, dan pada skala kepemilikan > 10 ekor sebesar Rp. 7.616.482,- per tahun atau sebesar Rp. 634.707,- per bulan. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa usaha sapi Potong layak untuk diusahakan dengan nilai R/C Ratio untuk skala kepemilikan 1 - 5 ekor sebesar 1,40 sedangkan untuk skala kepemilikan 6 - 10 ekor sebesar 1,38 dan untuk skala kepemilikan > 10 ekor sebesar 1,51.

The aim of this study was to know the income and the properness of the beef cattle based on the different ownership scale. This research was conducted in Boliyohuto Subdistrict Gorontalo Regency in September until October 2016. The method of this study was survey by collecting the primary and secondary data. The sampling was 89 respondents. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, the income and the properness of the beef cattle.The result of the study indicates that average income of the beef cattle based on the ownership scale 1 - 5 cows is Rp 4.436.876,- per year or Rp 369.740,- per month, on the ownership scale 6 - 10 cows is Rp. 4.370.505,- per year or Rp. 364.209,- per month, and on the ownership sclae > 10 cows is Rp. 7.616.482,- per year or Rp. 634.707,- per month. The writer finds that the beef cattle is proper to be carried on with value R/C Ratio on ownership scale 1 - 5 cows is 1,40, on ownership scale 6 - 10 cows is 1,38, and on ownership scale > 10 cows is 1,51.
