Abstrak
The study is aimed to: 1) examine the effect of direct corrective feedback to the writing achievement of extrovert students; 2) examine the effect of direct corrective feedback towards the writing achievement of introvert students; 3) examine the effect of indirect corrective feedback to the writing achievement of extrovert students; 4) examine the effect of indirect corrective feedback towards the writing achievement of introvert students; 5) examine the result of two modes of corrective feedback on writing achievement of extrovert students; and 6) examine the result of two modes of corrective feedback on writing achievement of introvert students. The study employed quasi experimental design.
Total of samples involved in this study was 54 selected through purposive sampling. The instrument consisted of personality traits questionnaire and writing achievement test. Techniques of data analysis employed in this study were paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test and one-way anova. Result of data analysis drew numerous conclusions. First, there is a significant effect of direct corrective feedback on extrovertâs studentâs writing achievement improvement (P-value: 0.000 0.05). Second, there is significant effect of direct corrective feedback on introvert studentsâ writing achievement improvement (P-value: 0.001 0.05). Third, there is significant effect of indirect corrective feedback towards the writing achievement improvement of extrovert students (P-value: 0.001 0.05). Fourth, there is significant effect of indirect corrective feedback towards the writing achievement improvement of introvert students (P-value: 0.001 0.05). Fifth, there is no significant difference n-gain score between extrovert students in direct corrective feedback class and indirect corrective feedback class. Result of independent sample t-test showed p-value: 0.817 > 0.05; and result of one-wayanova is P-value: 0.150 > 0.05.
Last, there is no significant difference n-gain score between extrovert students in direct corrective feedback class and indirect corrective feedback class. Result of independent sample t-test showed p-value: 0.720 > 0.05; and result of one-wayanova is P-value: 0.418 > 0.05.
