Abstrak
Abstract
SITI HASRAWATI: Developing Supplementary English Reading Materials for Food Crops and Horticulture Students (a research conducted at Food Crops and Horticulture Department grade X of SMK Gotong Royong Gorontalo academic year 2018/2019). The first adviser Prof. Dr. Hasanuddin Fatsah, M. Hum and the second adviser Dr. Mery Balango, M. Hum.
The main problem of this research was ..."how to develop supplementary reading materials for food crops and horticulture students and what is good supplementary materials like be tenth grade at SMK Gotong Royong kota Gorontalo? The objective was to identify students need in developing supplementary English reading materials and to produce the supplementary English reading materials for food crops and horticulture students. The subject was the food crops and horticulture students grade X-2 in 2018/2019 academic year which consists of twenty students. This research used R and D (Research and Development) method. The data was gathered from students need analysis, developing supplementary English reading materials for food crops and horticulture students, expert validation of the supplementary English reading materials and students response after used the supplementary English reading materials.
The findings showed that students were lacks of vocabularies and they chose learning in group. To develop the supplementary English reading materials for food crops and horticulture students, there were six stages to follow. They were research and information collecting, planning, develops preliminary form product, preliminary field testing, main product revision and main field testing. In summary this supplementary English reading helped the food crops and horticulture students learn English based on their needs.
