Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas buku saku berbasis research pada materi klasifikasi mahkluk hidup. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis research materi klasifikasi mahkluk hidup model R & D yang dilakukan melalui 10 langkah pengembangan kemudian di sederhanakan atas tiga tahap, yaitu (1) tahap eksplorasi, (2) tahap pengembangan prototipe, dan (3) tahap validasi produk, adapun produk yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini adalah buku saku. Produk pengembangan yang dihasilkan kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli desain, dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) buku saku berbasis research menurut ahli materi dari keselurah aspek penilaian untuk validasi buku saku adalah 93.75 % termasuk kualitas sangat baik, karena berada pada rentang 81% sampai 100%, (2) buku menurut ahli Desain keselurah aspek penilaian untuk validasi desain buku saku adalah 91.67 % , termasuk kualitas sangat baik, karena berada pada rentang 81% sampai 100%, (3) respon siswa terhadap keseluruhan aspek kualitas buku saku berada pada persentase 94 % dimana nilai ini termasuk pada kategori sangat baik karena berada pada rentang 81 sampai 100%.

This study aims to determine the quality of the research-based pocket book on the material classification of living things. The development of research-based learning tools for the classification of living things in the R & D model was carried out through 10 development steps and then simplified into three stages, namely (1) the exploration stage, (2) the prototype development stage, and (3) the product validation stage, as for the product. which is produced in this study is a pocket book. The resulting development products are then validated by material experts, design experts, and students. The results showed that (1) research-based pocket book according to material experts from all aspects of assessment for pocketbook validation was 93.75% including very good quality, because it was in the range of 81% to 100%, (2) books according to design experts in all aspects of the assessment for the validation of the pocket book design is 91.67%, including very good quality, because it is in the range of 81% to 100%, (3) the student response to all aspects of the quality of the pocket book is at a percentage of 94% where this score is included in the very good category because it is in the range 81 to 100%.
