Abstrak
Rokok elektrik merupakan salah satu jenis rokok yang tengah menjadi fenomena baru dikalangan masyarakat. Prevalensi penggunaan rokok elektrik di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan tahun 2018 sebesar 2,7% untuk usia 10-18 dan 10,9% untuk kelompok usia 15 tahun. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana gambaran pengguna rokok elektrik di komunitas vape kota Gorontalo. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran pengguna rokok elektrik di komunitas vape kota Gorontalo.
Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian yaitu komunitas vape di Kota Gorontalo yang terdiri dari tiga komunitas sebanyak 102 responden. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan tehnik purposif sampling yaitu sebanyak 82 responden. Analisis data secara deskriptif yaitu menggambarkan variabel dalam bentuk tabel distribusi.
Hasil penelitian menemukan 82 responden (100%) menggunakan rokok elektrik, 97,6% berusia dewasa muda, 95,1% berjenis kelamin laki-laki, 63,4% berpendidikan terakhir SMA, 46,3% bekerja sebagai wiraswasta, 59,8% menggunakan jenis vape portable (mod), 32,9% menggunakan rasa stowberry, 76,8% beralih dari rokok konvensional, 53,7% menggunakan kandungan nikotin tinggi (> 3 mg), 84,1% menggunakan cairan liquid dalam kategori berat yaitu 12-20 dripping/hari, 82,9% lama menggunakan rokok elektrik dalam kategori berat, dan 76,8% beralasan ingin berhenti mengkonsumsi rokok konvensional.
Simpulan bahwa pengguna rokok elektrik di komunitas vape Kota Gorontalo mengklaim bahwa penggunaan rokok elektrik aman untuk di konsumsi dan tidak mengandung bahan berbahaya. Disarankan agar instansi pelayanan kesehatan dapat memberikan promosi dan preventif kesehatan mengenai rokok elektrik untuk mencegah semakin banyaknya pengguna dan juga untuk mencegah dampak kesehatan yang dapat di timbulkan dari penggunaan rokok elektrik.

Vape is a type of cigarette that is becoming a new phenomenon in the community. The prevalence of the use of vape in Indonesia increased in 2018 by 2.7% for the age group of 10-18 years old and 10.9% for the age group of 15 years old. The problem statement of this study is how is the description of vape users in the vape community in Gorontalo. This is a descriptive study which aims to know the description of vape users in the vape community in Gorontalo city.
The populations is the vape community in Gorontalo City which consists of three communities, totaling 102 people. The sample is 82 people taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique uses descriptive data analysis, which describes the variables in the from of a distribution table.
The finding reveals that there are 82 respondents (100%) using vape, 97.6% are young adults, 95.1% are male, 63.4% have high school education, 46.3% work as entrepreneurs, 59.8% use portable vape (mod), 32.9% use strawberry flavor, 76.8% switch from conventional cigarettes, 53.7% use high nicotine content (>3 mg), 84.1% use liquid in the heavy category for 12-20 dripping/day, 82.9% long-time using vape in the heavy category, and 76.8% in purpose to stop consuming conventional cigarettes.
The conclusin is that vape users in the community in Gorontalo City claim that the use of vape is safe for consumption and does not contain harmful ingredients. It is recommended that health service office can provide health promotion and prevention regarding vape to prevent the increasing number of users and also to prevent the impacts that can arise from the use of vape.
