The foundation for further driving instruction that places a high priority on
the security of the driver and passengers is Safety Driving. Safety Driving can be influenced by external factors and internal factors. The internal factors that affect safety driving include drivers age, years of service, education level, knowledge level, and duration of the driver's work. Meanwhile, the external factors include working environment, driving documents, and feasibility of the bus.
The purpose of this research is to determine the priority of the problems
that most influence the safety driving behavior of drivers, as well as to find out what factors are related to the safety driving behavior of AKAP and AKDP bus drivers in Terminal Type A Dungingi, Gorontalo City, totaling 30 respondents using analytical hierarchy process method and chi-square statistical test. The independent variables in this study were drivers age, years of service, education level, level of knowledge, duration of work, completeness of driving documents, and feasibility of bus. While, the dependent variable in this study was the driver's safety driving behavior. The research instruments used in data collection were questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-square test. The results of this study revealed that there was a relationship between the level of education and safety driving behavior. However, it also found that there was no relationship between drivers age, years of service, education level, level of knowledge, duration of work, years of service, and feasibility of bus with safety driving behavior. As a result, it is
recommended that the Dungingi terminal be able to collaborate with drivers to provide safety driving instruction so that drivers may more clearly understand the
significance of safety driving behavior in order to prevent work accidents.
