Kualitas lipstik ditentukan oleh komponen basis lipstik. Salah satu basis lipstik yang digunakan yaitu carnauba. Carnauba wax digunakan dalam sediaan lipstik karena dapat menghasilkan perekatan dan kilau yang kuat dan juga berfungsi untuk memberikan struktur pada stik dan menjaga agar tetap padat meskipun dalam kondisi hangat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan dan menentukan pengaruh variasi konsentrasi carnauba wax terhadap formulasi sediaan lipstik ekstrak daun bayam itik (Amaranthus blitum).
Metode penelitian yaitu pembuatan ekstrak dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan etanol 70% sebagai pelarut yang mengandung asam klorida yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh total betasianin yang tinggi, kemudian pelarut diuapkan dengan rotary evaporator sehingga diperoleh ekstrak daun bayam itik. Komponen sediaan lipstik terdiri dari ekstrak daun bayam itik, oleum ricini, cera alba, lipocol, paraffin padat, propilen glikol, titanium dioksida, BHT, nipagin, oleum rose, dan carnauba wax dengan konsentrasi 1%, 3%, dan 5%. Penelitian meliputi preparasi sampel, uji kualitatif senyawa, formulasi sediaan, prosedur pembuatan, dan evaluasi fisik sediaan.
Pengujian terhadap sediaan yang dibuat yaitu evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi, uji stabilitas terhadap perubahan bentuk, warna dan bau selama penyimpanan 3 siklus selama 21 hari pada suhu kamar, uji homogenitas, uji iritasi, uji oles dan uji kekuatan lipstik. Sediaan lipstik yang dihasilkan yaitu stabil, berwarna merah bata, homogen, tidak menyebabkan iritasi, mudah dioleskan dan mempunyai kekerasan yang sesuai pada konsentrasi carnauba wax 1% dan tidak meyebabkan iritasi sehingga cukup aman untuk digunakan.

The quality of lipstick depends of the basic components of the lipstick. One of the basic components of lipstick is carnauba. Carnauba wax is used in lipstick due to its ability to produce a sticky and shiny product as well as to support the structure of the lipstick and to keep it solid in a warm temperature. This research was aimed at formulating and deciding the influence of variation of carnauba wax concentrate toward the formulation of lipstick made from duck spinach leave extract.
Maceration method with 70% of methanol extract as solvent that chloric acid was used in this research method of create high total beta cyanine, then the rotary evaporator was used to evaporate the solvent material, thus, the extract of duck spinach leaves extract, oleum ricini, cera alba, lypocol, solid paraffin, propylene glycol, titanium dioxid, BHT, nipagin, oleum rose, and carnauba wax of 1%, 3%, 5% concentrate. This research comprised with sample preparation, qualitative test of the compound, formulation of the lipstick, production prosedure, and physical evaluation of the lipstick product.
The physical test of the product consisted of physical evaluation of the product on the stability test toward the changing of the from, color, and smell during 3 cycles of storage for 21 days period in room temperature, homogeneity test, irritation test, smear test, and lipstick endurance test. The product turned out to be stable with red brick color, homogeny, did not cause irritation, easy to smeared, and had the good endurance on the 1% concentrate of carnauba wax and did not cause irritation, thus, it was easy to be used.
