Tuberkulosis (TB) adalah suatu penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Efek samping obat menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab kegagalan pengobatan TB. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek samping OAT menyebabkan pasien malas meminum obat sehingga pengobatan terhenti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek samping obat anti-tuberkulosis (OAT) yang dialami penderita TB paru selama menjalani pengobatan tahap awal (intensif) di Paguyaman Medical Center Kabupaten Boalemo Provinsi Gorontalo. Desain penelitian ini merupakan penelitian bersifat deskriptif observasional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara retrospektif, yaitu data yang digunakan adalah data rekam medik pasien TB paru yang menjalani pengobatan tahap awal (intensif). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh penderita TB Paru yang menjalani pengobatan tahap awal (intensif) yaitu sebanyak 42 orang. 1.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari 42 pasien penderita TB paru di Paguyaman Medical Center, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pasien TB paru lebih banyak dialami oleh penderita laki-laki yaitu sebanyak 60%. Sebagian besar penderita TB paru di Paguyaman Medical Center adalah penduduk berusia produktif, yaitu diantara usia 15-30 tahun sebanyak 45%. Sebanyak 40% pasien penderita TB paru berpendidikan SD, dan sebanyak 29% pasien bekerja sebagai petani. 2.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa efek samping OAT yang paling banyak dialami oleh penderita TB yaitu nyeri sendi sebanyak 100%. Sedangkan efek samping lain yang dialami yaitu kurang nafsu makan sebanyak 98%, mual 93%, pusing 55%, kesemutan 31%, dan muntah sebanyak 29%.

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. The drugs side effects is one of the factors that causes the failure on the treatment of TB. Several studies have shown that the side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATD) is the factor causing the cessation of the treatment because the patients are lazy for taking medicine. This study aims to determine the side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATD) experienced by the pulmonary tuberculosis patients during their initial treatment (intensive) at Paguyaman Medical Center in Boalemo District, Province of Gorontalo. The design of this research is descriptive observational research. Data collection has done retrospectively, which the data used is the medical record data of pulmonary TB patients who are undergoing the initial treatment (intensive). The population in this research is all patients of Pulmonary TB who are undergoing the initial treatment (intensive), amounted to 42 patients. Based on the results upon the patients with pulmonary TB at Paguyaman Medical Center in Boalemo District, Province of Gorontalo, it can be concluded that the male patients are more than female of 60%. Most patients is in the productive age, in the range of 15-30 years old of 45%. 40% of the patients onlyhavelevel education ofelementary school, and 29% of the patients are farmers. Other results show that the drugs side effect which is experienced the most by the patients is joint pain of 100%, and continued with other side effects of: lack of appetite of 98%, nausea of 93%, dizziness of 55%, tingling of 31% and vomiting of 29%.
