Hipertensi merupakan peningkatan tekanan darah diatas normal (140/90mmHg) yang dapat mengakibatkan kesakitan dan kematian. Untuk itu kepatuhan pasien hipertensi dalam menggunakan obat antihipertensi merupakan hal yang penting untuk menjaga tekanan darah tetap terkontrol dan menghindari terjadinya komplikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien hipertensi rawat jalan berdasarkan jenis kelamin, umur pasien, pekerjaan dan pendidikan terakhir, serta untuk mengetahui tingkat kepatuhan pengunaan obat antihipertensi pada pasien rawat jalan di RSUD Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien hipertensi rawat jalan di RSUD Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto dengan sampel yang berjumlah 83 pasien.
Data diperoleh melalui wawancara langsung dengan responden menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berdasarkan karakteristik responden terbanyak yaitu jenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 51 pasien (61.4%), responden hipertensi terbanyak terdapat pada kelompok umur 46 - 55 tahun sebanyak 28 responden (33.7%), berpendidikan SMA sebanyak 26 pasien (31.3%) dan tidak bekerja atau pensiunan sebanyak 46 pasien (55.4%). Berdasarkan tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan obat antihipertensi, pasien hipertensi yang patuh menggunakan obat sebanyak 76 pasien (91.6%). Disarankan kepada petugas kesehatan perlu adanya pengawasan lebih dan pemberian informasi tetang pentingnya menggunakan obat antihipertensi.

Hypertension is increased above normal blood pressure (140/90mmHg) which can lead to pain and death. Therefore the adherence of hypertensive patients using antihypertensive drugs is important to keep blood pressure under controlled and avoid the complications. The aim of this study is to determine the caharacteristics of hypertensve outpatients by sex, patient's age, occupation and last education, ad also to determine the level of compliance of antihypertensive drug use in outpatients at RSUD M.M. Dunda Limboto. This study is a descriptive quantitative. The population used in this study are hypertensive outpatients at RSUD Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto with sample of 83 patients.
The data obtained through direct interviews with respondents using a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that most respondents based on the characteristic of the female sex were 21 patients (61,4%), most hypertensive respondents are in the age group 46-55 years old as many as 28 respondents (33,7%), educated senior high school were 26 pasien (31,3%) and no occupation or retired as many as 46 patients (55,4%). Based on the level of compliance with antihypertensive medication use, adherent patients using the drug as much as 76 patients (91,6%). It is recommended to health workers need for more oversight and the giving of information about the importance of using antihypertensive drugs.
