Manusia merupakan salah satu sasaran yang rentan terhadap gigitan nyamuk. Untuk itu dibutuhkan suatu pengendalian menggunakan repellent dari ekstrak tumbuhan yang aman digunakan. Daun selasih (Ocimum gratissimum L.) memiliki khasiat sebagai repellent dengan kandungan eugenol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstrak daun selasih (Ocimum gratissimum L.) dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan patch dan untuk mengetahui efektivitas sediaan patch sebagai repellent nyamuk. Penelitian ini diawali dengan proses ekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70 %. Proses selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan sediaan patch ekstrak daun selasih menggunakan metode matriks dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun selasih. Semua formula dilakukan evaluasi yang meliputi uji organileptis, uji ketebalan, uji keseragaman bobot, uji kelembapan dan uji ketahanan lipat. Proses kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengujian efektivitas repellent patch menggunakan kelinci sebagai hewan coba dlam 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu K-(basis patch), K+(Moscquito Repellent Patch), 3 kelompok patch ekstrak daun selasih dengan variasi konsentrasi F1a (konsentrasi 10%), F1b (konsentrasi 20%), dan F1c (konsentrasi 30%). Masing-masing kelompok ditempelkan pada pakaian kelinci dan dimasukkan kedalam kotak percobaan yang telah dimasukkan nyamuk sebanyak 20 ekor. Data penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji statistik ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun selasih (Ocimum gratissimum L.) dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan patch yang telah melalui evaluasi fisik meliputi uji organoleptis, uji ketebalan, uji keseragaman bobot, uji kelembapan, dan uji ketahanan lipat. Patch dari daun selasih (Ocimum gratissimum L.) memiliki aktivitas sebagai repellent nyamuk, dimana formula F1 dengan konsentrasi 30% dapat memberikan efektivitas repellent nyamuk yang baik.

Humans are one of the targets that are susceptible to mosquito bites. Therefore, a control is needed using repellent from plant extracts that are safe to use. Clove basil (Ocimum gratissimum L.) leaves have an effect as repellent contain eugenol. This study aims to determine that it can be formulated in dosage patch form and to determine the effectiveness of clove basil (Ocimum gratissimum L.) leaves dosage patch as mosquitoes repellent. This research is an experimental research started with extraction using maceration method with 70% of ethanol. Furthermore, the patch extract dosage of clove basil was made by using matrix method with various concentrations of clove basil extract. All formulas were evaluated physically which includes organoleptic test, thickness test, weight uniformity test, moisture test and fold resistance test. Then the step was continued by conducting the effectiveness test of the mosquitoes repellent patch to rabbits as experimental animal into 5 treatment group which were K- (base patch); K+ (mosquito repellent patch); 3 group of clove basil extract patch with variations concentration of F1a (10%), F1b (20%) and F1c (30%). Each group was attached to the rabbitâs outfit and put into the experimental cage that had been loaded with 20 mosquitoes. The obtained data from the results of the research then analyzed statistically using One Way Anova. The results show that clove basil (Ocimum gratissimum L.) leaves extract can be formulated in patch dosage form which has been through physical evaluation including organoleptic test, thickness test, weight uniformity test, moisture test, and folding resistance test. Patch of clove basil (Ocimum gratissimum L.) leaves has activity as mosquitos repellent, where formula F1 with concentration 30% can give good effectiveness as mosquitos repellent.
