One of the illnesses that related to painful at body joint and bone that has been complaint by the elderly was rheumatic. This was happened when people were getting older and older. The aim of the study was to know the description of elderly knowledge and attitude of rheumatic at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Ilomata, Kota Gorontalo in 2013.
Method of study applied survey descriptive method. Population on this study was the whole elderly aged more than 60. It was consisted of 35 people and lived at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Ilomata, Kota Gorontalo. The sample technique applied total sampling technique.
The result study showed that almost all the respondent were lack of knowledge and had an enough attitude on rheumatic and it should be improved so they can be aware of it.
It can be suggested to the health officer to give the information about the illness by counseling or other activities with the full support from the Department of Health of Gorontalo Province.

Salah satu penyakit yang berhubungan dengan nyeri pada persendian dan tulang yang biasa dikeluhkan lansia akibat nyeri yang dirasakan sangat mengganggu aktivitas adalah Reumatik, kejadian tersebut akan meningkat sejalan dengan meningkatnya usia manusia. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap lansia tentang Reumatik di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha “ILOMATA” Kota Gorontalo tahun 2013.
Metode penelitian ini merupakan Jenis penelitian yang menggunakan metode “Survey Deskriptif“ Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh lansia yang berumur (60tahun keatas), berjumlah 35 orang dan bertempat tinggal di panti sosial tresna werdha ilomata kota gorontalo. Sampel berjumlah 35 responden dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling.
Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki pengetahuan kurang dan memiliki sikap katagori cukup berdasarkan hasil yang didapat bahwa pengetahuan dan sikap lansia tentang reumatik harus ditingkatkan lagi sehingga lansia yang mengalami penyakit reumatik dapat berkurang.
Dari hasil penelitian tersebut maka diharapkan kepada petugas kesehatan agar memberikan informasi penyakit khususnya reumatik melalui penyuluhan atau kegiatan lain dengan dukungan penuh dinas kesehatan propinsi.
