Abstrak

Sitti Rahmayani Abdul Salam, 2018. Hubungan Berat Badan Lahir dengan Kejadian ISPA Pada Anak Usia 1-4 Tahun di Puskesmas Dungingi Kota Gorontalo. ISPA merupakan singkatan dari infeksi saluran pernapasan akut. Penyakit infeksi akut yang menyerang salah satu bagian atau lebih dari saluran napas mulai dari hidung (saluran atas) hingga alveoli (saluran bawah) termasuk jaringan adneksanya seperti sinus, rongga telinga tengah dan pleura. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan berat badan lahir dengan kejadian ISPA pada anak usia 1-4 tahun di Puskesmas Dungingi Kota Gorontalo. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan case control. Populasi seluruh anak yang berobat di Puskesmas Dungingi pada Januari-Juli 2018. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 86 anak meliputi 43 kasus dan 43 kontrol diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisa data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil uji Chi-square menunjukkan nilai p-value = 0,020 < 0,05 dan odds ratio 3,464 yang berarti bahwa anak dengan BBLR memiliki risiko 3,464 kali lebih besar untuk menderita ISPA. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan berat badan lahir dengan kejadian ISPA pada anak usia 1-4 tahun di Puskesmas Dungingi Kota Gorontalo. Diharapkan petugas kesehatan secara intensif memberikan penyuluhan mengenai bagaimana menjaga daya tahan tubuh anak melalui pemberian imunisasi dan ASI eksklusif terutama anak dengan BBLR agar terhindar dari ISPA.

ARI stands for Acute Respiratory Infections that attacks one part or more respiratory tracts, starting from the nose (upper track) to alveoli (lower tract), including its adnexal tissue such as the sinuses, middle ear cavity, and pleura. This research intends to find out the correlation between birth weight and ARI in one to four-year-old children at Community Health Centre of Dungingi, Gorontalo.
It employed a descriptive analytic method with the case-control approach as well as involved all children who got medical treatment in the site area from January to July 2018 as the population. However, only 86 children covering 43 cases and 43 control were selected as the sample by using the purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by the Chi-Square test. It is finally revealed that the p-value = 0.020 < 0.05 and odds ratio is 3.464, meaning that children with low birth weight have a risk of 3.464 times greater for suffering from ARI.
Therefore, there is a correlation between birth weight and acute respiratory infections in one to four-year-old children at Community Health Centre of Dungingi, Gorontalo. It is expected that the health workers intensively give socialization or extension to the community regarding the maintenance of children's immune system through the provision of immunization and exclusive breastfeeding, especially children with low birth weight in order to avoid ARI.
