Hypnotherapy is a psychological branch of science that studies the benefits of suggestions to overcome mind, feelings, and behaviors problems. Hypnotherapy is also a mind therapeutic technique using hypnotic. The objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of hypnotherapy toward the extent of anxiety on pre-surgery cataract patients at dr. Asri Ainun Habibie hospital of Gorontalo Province.
This research is a true experiment with pretest and posttest control group design. The population of this research is all the pre-surgery cataract patients at dr. Asri Ainun Habibie hospital of Gorontalo Province.
This research reveals that hypnotherapy is effective in reducing the anxiety of pre surgery cataract patients at dr. Asri Ainun Habibie Hospital of Gorontalo province with the p value of .003. It is recommended that this technique can be made as reference to increase knowledge and understanding on the influence of hypnotherapy toward the level of anxiety on pre-surgery cataract patients.

Hipnoterapi adalah cabang ilmu psikologi yang mempelajari manfaat sugesti untuk mengatasi masalah pikiran, perasaan dan perilaku. Hipnoterapi dapat juga dikatakan sebagai suatu teknik terapi pikiran menggunakan hipnotis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengenalisis efektifitas hipnoterapi terhadap tingkat kecemasan pasien pre operasi katarak di RSUD dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie Provinsi Gorontalo.
Desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimen sungguhan (True Experiment) dengan rancangan pretest posttest dengan kelompok kontrol (Pretest-Posttest with Control Group). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien pre operasi katarak di RSUD dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie Provinsi Gorontalo.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hipnoterapi efektif terhadap penurunan tingkat kecemasan pre operasi pasien katarak di RSUD dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie Provinsi Gorontalo dengan P Value = 0,003. Diharapkan agar dapat menjadi acuan untuk menambah wawasan, pengetahuan, pemahaman tentang pengaruh hipnoterapi terhadap tingkat kecemasan pasien pre operasi katarak.
