Post-partum or post-delivery time is a time from when a baby was born and the placenta was just being taken out from the womb to the next six or seven weeks when the pregnancy related organs recovered after the birth process.
Colostrum is milk produced by milk glands at the final stage of pregnancy up to several days after birth of the baby.
The objective of this research is to find out the factors that influences the post partum mothers in administering colostrum to their new born baby at Siti Khadijah Mother and Child Hospital of Gorontalo city.
This research is an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The population of this research is first to fourth day post-partum mothers', which accounts for 30 respondents. The samples are taken using accidental sampling.
This research that there is an influence of respondents' knowledge factor (P Value = 0.000), respondents' education factor (P Value = 0.003), and respondents' source of information (P Value = 0.000) toward the administration of colostrum to
new born baby at Siti Khadijah Mother and Child Hospital of Gorontalo city.
It is recommended that the health care workers to increase the distribution of information to the mothers on the importance of colostrum administration.

Post partum atau masa nifas adalah masa atau waktu sejak bayi dilahirkan dan plasenta keluar lepas dari rahim, sampai enam minggu berikutnya, disertai dengan pulihnya kembali organ-organ yang berkaitan dengan kandungan, yang mengalami perubahan seperti perlukaan dan lain sebagainya berkaitan saat melahirkan.
Kolostrum (dari bahasa latin colostrum) atau jolong adalah susu yang dihasilkan oleh kelenjar susu dalam tahap akhir kehamilan dan beberapa hari setelah kelahiran bayi.
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi ibu post partum dalam pemberian kolostrum pada bayi baru lahir di RSIA Sitti Khadijah Kota Gorontalo.
Desain penelitian ini adalah rancangan survey analitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu post partum hari pertama sampai keempat sebanyak 30 responden. Tehnik pengambilan sampel adalah Accidental Sampling.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada pengaruh faktor pengetahuan responden ( P Value = 0,000), faktor pendidikan responden ( P Value = 0,003) dan sumber informasi responden ( P Value = 0,000) terhadap pemberian kolostrum pada bayi baru lahir di RSIA Sitti Khadijah, Kota Gorontalo.
Diharapkan kepada tenaga kesehatan untuk dapat meningkatkan pemberian informasi atau penyuluhan kepada ibu-ibu tentang pentingnya pemberian kolostrum.
