Abstract
Nyoman Erawan is a talented Balinese artist focused on developing a unique spoken language that blends traditional and cultural values. He works in diverse mediums including painting, installation, video, and performance art. Space is used to explore multimedia installations. In Balinese religious tradition, processing materials has become a daily activity for the people, and artist Nyoman Erawan's creativity always connects with Balinese Hindu cosmology. Erawan sees space as more than just the dimension of his work but as a part of their personal and social lives' cosmology. Nyoman Erawan is a contemporary Balinese artist who combines modernity with traditional Balinese art and culture in his work. While his pieces have a modern flair, they still maintain the essence of Balinese traditions. To analyze Nyoman Erawan's artwork, the author uses a diachronic theoretical approach from art history. They employ an art criticism approach, combining description, interpretation, and evaluation. This method helps the writer understand how Erawan explores creative ideas through different materials and mediums. His works depict Balinese spiritual values and express his anxiety about social
phenomena, drawing inspiration from modern art.
