Abstract
The leakage current on insulator surface is a function of solution conductivity contamination. These pollutants on the insultor will influence the level of ESDD and NSDD, if the pollutant is high then the ESDD and NSDD also will be higher, so the leakage current performance will be higher as well. The research was conducted in laboratory Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang. The result showed that the contaminated wet conditions there is no difference in the average value of leakage current between the insulator 40 kV and 70 kV where the values obtained for the second test insulator is 4.67 mA, whereas the contaminated dry conditions there are difference in the average current value leak rate of 0.07 mA, where the average value for the insulator leakage current is 4.40 mA 40 kV and 70 kV are 4.47 mA and the maximm leakage current values obtained in the wet contaminated conditions
