Abstract
This study aimes to compare previous understanding of concept student genetics, students, lecturer and teacher. Sample was a student of Biology, Malang State University in August 2010-June 2011. Anova statistic were used to analyze data. Result showed that preconception genetics teacher-lecturer was no different with student. Preconception of student better than students. There was no difference in student preconception of Biology Education Study Program with Biology Studi Program. Answer of misconception commonly found in group of concept meaning and scope of genetics; gene, DNA and chromosome, and mutation. This research is important to see preconception before implementing in learning process in order to be addressed misconception held during learning process.
