Abstract
One of the assets of various Indonesian cultures is traditional costumes. In South Sulawesi, there are ethnic groups such as the Bugis, Makassar, Mandar and Tator. One of the traditional costumes in Bugis, Makassar and Mandar is a Bodo costume. This costume consists of a sheet of rectangle material folded into two and has an opening in the neck part. This shirt is worn along with a silk or ordinarily woven sarong, and made of pineapple fibers. To describe and analyze the Comparison of Bodo Traditional Costume from South Sulawesi, cultural, aesthetic, and comparative approach is employed. This research employs a qualitative method. Data collection was undertaken through literature review, observation, interview, and documentation. The result obtained is the description of aesthetic characteristics of Bodo traditional costume (its functions and structure), and comparison of Bodo costume of Bugis, Makassar, and Mandar.
