Abstract

The research aimed to determine the growth and yield of mustard plant based on various planting distance and varieties. This was conducted in South Toto Village of Kabila District of Gorontalo regency on the month May- July 2013. Research method used factorial design in randomized with two factors are various planting distance that consist of 20 x 20 cm, 20 x 30 cm, 20 x 40 cm. For the second factor were Tosakan and Christina varieties. Each treatment done 3 replications, so there are 18 plot units. The result that the treatment of various planting distance and Tosakan varieties give an effect of increasing plant growth from leaf number and leaf canopy weight at 4 weeks after planting. But both treatments did not affect the height and leaf area index. Keywords: mustard, planting distance, varieties
