Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of organic mulch and different varieties on the growth and yield of watermelon plants. The design used was factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors. The first factor is mulch consisting of 3 levels, namely (M0) without mulch, (M1) straw mulch, (M2) Imperata mulch. The second factor is a variety consisting of two levels, namely the F1 and Angela F1 retainer varieties. Each treatment was repeated 3 times as a group so that there were 18 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering percentage, fruit weight per plant fruit weight per plot and NJD (Domination Total Ratio) weeds. The results showed that mulch had a significant effect on plant height 4 MST and flowering percentage 4 MST but had no significant effect on fruit weight per sample and fruit weight per plot. Varetas has no significant effect on plant height, flowering percentage, fruit weight per sample and fruit weight per plot. Keywords: organic mulch, varieties, watermelon
