Abstract
The aims of this research were to determine the effect of organic mulch, weeding time and their interaction on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The experiment was conducted in March to May 2015 at Paris Village, Mootilango district, Gorontalo regency. This Research used factorial design in RAK with the first factor of organic mulch consisted of two levels such as rice straw mulch and sawdust mulch. The second factor was weeding time, it consisted of three levels such as without weeding, weeding time 1 MST and 3 MST. The result showed that the treatment of organic mulch can affect the growth and yield of sweet corn plant with the height and number of leaves around 4, 6 and 8 weeks after planting, the weight of cob and the length of the cob. The Treatment of weeding time can affect on the growth and yield of sweet corn plant height and number of leaves 4, 6 and 8 weeks after planting, the weight of cob and the length of the cob. There is an interaction between organic mulch and weeding time in the observation of height of plant 8 MST and weight of the cobs. Keywords: Organic mulch, Weeding time and Sweet corn
