Abstract
Low soybean production due to competition between plants and continuous use of inorganic fertilizers. This study aims to determine the growth and production of soybean plants (Glycine max L. Merril) by using variations in spacing and the provision of compost organic fertilizer. This research was conducted in Ilomangga Village, Kecamata Tabongo, Gorontalo Regency in February 2018 until June 2018. This study used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors, namely the variation of spacing consisting of 2 levels, spacing of 40 x 40 cm and 40 x 60 cm, the second factor was compost organic fertilizer with 3 levels such as control, 15 and 25 tons / ha, each treatment was repeated 3 times. Data analysis using variance (ANOVA) with 5% BNT test. The results showed that the treatment of spacing of 40 x 40 cm gave the best results on plant height while the spacing of 40 x 60 cm gave the best results on the number of pods and production of the plot. The treatment of compost organic fertilizer significantly affected the growth and production of soybean plants, the treatment of compost organic fertilizer at a dose of 25 tons / ha gave the best results on observations of plant height, flowering time percentage, number of crop pods, weight of 100 seeds and plot production. There is no interaction between the treatment of spacing and the treatment of compost organic fertilizer. Keywords: Planting Distance Variation, Compost Organic Fertilizer, Soybean
