Abstract
Setting the spacing and time of application of fertilizer is one of the factors that can affect
crop production. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of chili based on spacing,
time of application of Phonska fertilizer and interaction of spacing and time of application of
Phonska fertilizer. This research was conducted in Toto Utara Village, Tilong Kabila
Subdistrict, Bone Bolango Regency, in June 2017 until December 2017. Factorial design was
used in this randomized block design (RBD) with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is the
spacing consists of 2 levels, namely 60 cm x 60 cm and 60 cm x 80 cm. The second factor is
the time of application of Phonska fertilizer consists of 3 levels, namely 1 application (200 kg
/ ha) Phonska fertilizer, 2 applications (100 kg / ha + 100 kg / ha) Phonska fertilizer, and 3
applications (100 kg / ha) + 50 kg / ha + 50 kg / ha) of Phonska fertilizer. Each treatment was
repeated 3 times as a group so that there were 18 experimental units. The parameters observed
were plant height, number of leaves, time of flowering, number of fruits per plant, and weight
of fruit per plot. The results showed that the plant spacing of 60 cm x 60 cm had a significant
effect on the number of fruit harvests 1, weight of fruit harvests 3 and 4, but did not
significantly affect plant height 2, 4, 6 and 8 MST, number of leaves 2, 4, and 6 MST, start
flowering time, number of fruit harvested 2, 3, and 4.3 times the time of application of
Phonska fertilizer significantly affected plant height 4, 6, and 8 MST, time to start flowering,
number of fruits per crop 2, 3, and 4. and harvested fruit weight 3 and 4, but no significant
effect on plant height 2 MST, number of leaves 2, 4, and 6 MST. The interaction between
spacing and time of application of Phonska fertilizer significantly affected the number of
leaves of MST and harvested fruit weights 1 and 2 but did not significantly influence plant
height and fruit height.
