Abstract

This studi aimed at describing the grammatical differences of British and American English grammatical. The objectives of this study are (1) to provide insights into grammatical differences betwen American and British English, and (2) to give contibution to the teaching and learning english. To gain the data, documentation study is used by reading some printed materials, books, encyclopedia and browsing the internet. The differences found in grammatical are in the use of collectiove nouns, use of delexical verbs have and take, use of auxiliaries and modals, use of propositions, differences in which nouns are the same in both their plural and singular forms, possession of have and have got and telling time
