Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the effects of learning strategies and learning styles of students to the study of Islamic education. This study uses an experimental method with 2 x 2 factorial design. The research was carried out at SMAN 2 and SMAN 3 Gorontalo city of half a class XI school year 2011/2012. Overall results of the subjects studied Islamic religious education of students who were taught using learning strategies CTL is higher than the learning outcomes of students who were taught using expository learning strategies. Overall results of the subjects studied Islamic religious education of students with visual learning style higher than students who have auditory learning styles. There is interaction between the learning strategies and learning styles of student learning outcomes in the eyes of Islamic religious education lessons. In the group of students whowere taught by CTL learning strategies, the study subjects on Islamic religious education of students with visual learning styles is higher than the students who have auditory learning styles. In the group of students who were taught using expository learning strategies, the study subjects on Islamic religious education of students who have a lower visual learning styles of students who have auditory learning styles. In the group of students who have a visual learning style, learning the subjects in the students' Islamic religious education is taught using learning strategies CTL is higher than the expository learning to use learning strategies. In the group of students who have auditory learning styles, the study subjects onIslamic religious education students taught using learning strategies CTL is lowerthan that taught using expository learning strategies. Based on this research finding, teacher should apply several instructional strategies in order to serve students with various learning styles in a classroom.
