The problem that became the focus in this research is the discipline of studying the students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo marked by the discipline in determining and using the way or learning strategy, the lack of discipline to the utilization of study time. The purpose of this study is to find out how the discipline of students in grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo.
This research is a quantitative descriptive, to describe the discipline of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo. Members of the population in this study were students of class VIII, amounting to 187 students. The sampling technique is random sampling which get 38 people (20%) students as the sample member. The data collection technique used questionnaire as the main technique, equipped with observation technique.
Based on the research done with data analysis of obedient percentage and obedient to the learning order in school equal to 88,65%, study preparation 79,77%, attention to learning activity equal to 78,48%, complete task at time equal to 79,61%, Physiological factors of 78.82%, individual factors of 77.63%. Social factor equal to 82,68%. So it can be concluded that the discipline of students of class VIII SMA Negeri 3 Gorontalo is categorized well with an average percentage of 80.81%.

Permasalahan yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah disiplin belajar siswa SMP Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo ditandai dengan disiplin dalam menentukan dan menggunakan cara atau strategi belajar, kurangnya disiplin terhadap pemanfaatan waktu belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo.
Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, untuk menggambarkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo. Anggota populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII yang berjumlah 187 orang siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah secara random sampling yang mendapatkan 38 orang (20%) siswa sebagai anggota sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket sebagai teknik utama, dilengkapi dengan teknik observasi.
Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dengan analisis data persentase patuh dan taat terhadap tata tertib belajar di sekolah sebesar 88,65%, persiapan belajar 79,77%, perhatian terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran sebesar 78,48%, menyelesaikan tugas pada waktunya sebesar 79,61%, faktor fisiologis sebesar 78,82%, faktor perorangan sebesar 77,63%. Faktor sosial sebesar 82,68%. Demikian dapat disimpulkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII SMA Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo dikategorikan baik dengan persentase rata-rata sebesar 80,81%.
