Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah dengan menggunakan media blok dienes pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai tempat dapat meningkat ? tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep nilai tempat dengan menggunakan media blok dienes pada siswa kelas I SDN 2 Suwawa Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Hipotesis penelitian jika guru menggunakan media blok dienes maka pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai tempat akan meningkat.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I sebanyak 5 siswa atau 19% memiliki pemahaman konsep nilai tempat dengan nilai 75-100. Sementara pada siklus II sebanyak 20 siswa atau 77% memiliki pemahaman konsep nilai tempat dengan nilai 75-100. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan media blok dienes pemahaman konsep nilai tempat pada siswa kelas I SDN 2 Suwawa Kabupaten Bone Bolango meningkat.

The problem statement of this study is whether or not the use of Dienes block media can improve students' understanding of place values concept? The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of the place value concept by using the Dienes block media for grade 1 students of Elementary School SDN 2 Suwawa, Bone Bolango Regency. Methodology used in this study is a classroom action research. In addition, the research hypothesis if the teacher uses dienes block media, the students' understanding of the place value will increase.
The results of this study indicate that in the first cycle as many as five students or 19% have an understanding of the concept of place value with a score of 75-100. While in cycle II as many as 20 students or 77% have an understanding of the concept of place value with a score of 75-100. Based on the results of the study, it concludes that by using the Dienes block media, the understanding of the place values concept at grade 1 Elementary School SDN 2 Suwawa, Bone Bolango Regency increases.
