Titin. Mahmud.2012. A Study on Student’s Reading Ability by Finding Generic Structure In Procedure Text. (A Research Conducted at second grade of SMPN 2 TOLANGOHULA) English Department, Faculty of Letter and Cultures, Gorontalo State University.
The Aim of this research is to know the student’s ability by finding the generic structure in procedure text. In this research, the source of the data is the 2nd grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tolangohula, I took class VIIIA which consist of 29 students.
In collecting the data I used test as the instrument. In this research, I used the form of question as the text to measure the students’ ability by finding generic structure in procedure text. I gave the students 2 (two) procedure texts and each of the text consist of 3 (three) questions, therefore, the total numbers of question are 6 numbers. In this research, I found that the students’ ability by finding generic structure in procedure text is in excellent level.
Trough this research, I hope it will gave information about the students’ ability by finding generic structure and it is also contribution for the reader especially for the students’ to develop their reading ability, especially in reading procedure text. For the further researcher, furthermore, I hope this research can give valuable contribution for the next researcher.
