Farida Octaviani Lahope .2012. NIM: 321 407 030. SKRIPSI: “The Application of Tea Party Strategy to Improve Students’ Ability in Reading Comprehension In Narrative Text.” ( A research conducted at the 2nd grade of SMP Negeri 10 Gorontalo).
The objective of this research is to find out whether tea party strategy to improve students’ ability in reading comprehension in narrative text or not. It was conducted at the second grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Gorontalo. The sample size is 30 students by using purposive sampling technique. The research used quantitative method. The instrument is 30 items of multiple choices test. In analyzing the data, I use statistical analysis by applying t-test formula. In testing hypothesis, the result of research shows that the value of t_count was -4.4217 with the degree of freedom (n_(1+) n_2- 2)and the level of significance 0.05. While from the table of distribution, I found that t_list was 2.00. By comparing both of t_count and t_list it indicates that t_count ? t_list. It means that tea party strategy can improve students’ ability in reading comprehension in narrative text.
