Abstract
ABSTRACT SitiMasitaLadju "A Descriptive Study on Teachers' Reinforcement towards Students' Speaking Ability" (A Research conducted at MTs N Gorontalo) The aim of this research is to describing the teachers' reinforcements toward students' speaking ability. Reinforcement is a important thing for the students because it can stimulus the students in speaking ability. There are verbal and non verbal of the reinforcement that the teachers can apply in teaching and learning process. The research conducted in MTs Negeri Gorontalo. There are two teachers of MTs Negeri Gorontalo are chosen as a subject of the research, and the main instrument is researchers herself. She acts as an observer and data collector by using observation sheet, field notes, and interview. In result, the teachers applies the six categories of the teacher talk in teaching and learning process. There arre dealing with feeling, praising or encoraging and joking, asking question, giving information, giving directions and crictizing the students behavior.
