Bagaya, Adriansyah. 2015. Human Vs Robot (an analysis theInternal Conflict of Alex Murphy on Robocop Movie). It was supervised by Dr. H. Harto Malik, M.Hum and Farid Muhammad, S.Pd, M.A.
This study was conducted to investigate the internal conflict that happened on Robocop Movie between human and Robot in one character.This research is a qualitative research.The researcher used structural approach in this research.The data were collected through watching the movie and taking notes. The result showed that there were 19 data that showed conflict that appeared on the movie. The data was divided into three categories of conflict, they are avoidance- avoidance conflict, approach - avoidance conflict and approach - approach conflict. Avoidance - avoidance conflict occurs when Alex should face two things that undesirable for him. Alex should chose became a half robot or die. Alex did not have another option except should accept his condition as a half robot to save his life. Approach - Avoidance conflict occurs when a thing has both desirable and undesirable. Alex want to meet his family but he did not confidence because of his body. Alex was not a real man anymore. He was a half robot and a half human. That thing make Alex feel desperate to meet his wife and son. The last is approach - approach conflict. Approach - approach conflict occurs when someone should choose between two things that he/she that desirable. This things happen to Alex, where as a robot he should follow the program to fix the crime, but as a human Alex should follow his mind.
