Abstract
AbstractSuslaningtiasLakoro. Women Roles in Kate Chopin’s Short Stories is a study towards short stories which was written by Kate Chopin. This study supervised by Prof. Dr. Moon H. Otoluwa M.Hum as the first advisor and Novi Rusnarty Usu S.Pd M.A as the second advisor. This study is aimed to analyze the roles of women in Kate Chopin’s short stories. This employes the theory of feminist literary criticism as the main approach to analyze the women roles. The data is analyzed qualitative and it employes the theory of feminist literary criticism as the main approach to analyze the women roles. It is focused to three roles in these stories. There are three roles which are identified in the study. There are positive, misogynistic and slave role. The positive roles are identified into independent, intelligent, and heroic. However, in misogynistic roles there are witch, bitch, vampire, also virgin and goddess. Keywords: Women Roles, Short Story.
