The final project is about the influence of a picture dictation toward the students’ listening ability in descriptive text. Picture dictation is interesting method in English Teaching. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of a picture dictation toward the students’ listening ability. This research focuses to look the change of the students’ score in listening skill after the students get picture dictation as the treatment. The sample in this research is the students X-A of MA Al-Huda Kota Gorontalo 2012/2013 academic year that consist of 19 students. This research used experimental design as the method. In this research, the researcher found that mean score of pre-test tlist or 5,53 > 2,10. So, it can be concluded that a picture dictation can influence the students’ listening ability. This research shows that picture dictation is one of others way to develop the students’ ability in listening skill, so the English teacher can use picture dictation as the method in teaching and learning process. For the other researcher, a picture dictation can be applied in another skill such as speaking skill.
