This study aims to find out the dominant deixis type and the reference of each deixis in Transcendence movie. This study discussed three major types deixis. Those are personal, spatial and temporal deixis. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data in this study is obtained from the Transcendence movie. There were three steps in collecting data, they were watching and reading transcription, taking notes, and classifying the data. Furthermore, the data have been analyzed by four steps. Those are presenting the data, classifying the usage of deixis, analyzing the deixis and interpreting the datay
As the result of this study, deixis means words with referent changing and also words that the interpretation depends to the context. Besides the researcher found that there were 895 deixis in Transcendence movie, i.e 831 person deixis (92.8%), 29 spatial deixis (3.3%), and 35 temporal deixis (3.9%). Based on research finding, it is necessary to introduce deixis to the English learners.
