(A study conducted at class XI language program of SMA NegeriTilamuta Especially class XIA)”. Skripsi.English Department.Letters and Culture Faculty.State University of Gorontalo. 2013.The aims of this research are to find out students’ ability in composing conversation of descriptive text. And to get brief description on the problem of the implementation of students’ ability in composing conversation of descriptive text. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative  method. This study was conducted at class XI of language program of SMA NegeriTilamuta that consist of 20 students. The data in this research were collected from task/assignment and questionnaire. The data were collected from the students composition were analyzing through qualitative approach. The component of writing was used as  method of scoring the students’ paragraph based on four components of writing such as grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, and organization. After analyzing the data, it was found that as whole the students’ ability in composing conversation in supermarket text and hospital text is 650 with the percentage is 67.70% and can be classified into “good”. The students’ ability in composing conversation in supermarket text is 318 or 66.25% and can be classified into “good”. The students’ ability in composing conversation in hospital text 332 with the percentage 69.16% and can be classified into “good”. The suggestion for the students to  pay more attention to improve their ability to “excellent”.Key Word: Students’ Ability, Composing Conversation, Component of Writing.
