The title of this research is "An Analysis of English Loanwords in Economic Articles of Gorontalo Post Newspaper". This research was conducted because the use of English loanwords that discovered in Gorontalo Post newspaper has not been understood by the readers, especially related to the formulation of loanwords from English to Indonesian. This research is aimed to find out the types of english loanwords in economic articles of Gorontalo Post Newspaper. Furthermore, the object of this research focuses on economic articles. Methodologically, this research uses decriptive-qualitative. It was conducted by using Haugen's classification, and this research also refers to Crowley's theory in phonological process. In this research, the researcher found that there are three types of loanwords involving Howgen's such as WPS (Without Phonetic Substitution), PPS (Partial Phonetic Substitution), and CPS (Complete Phonetic Substitution). According to Crowley, the researcher found some types of sound changes, such as epenthesis, apocope, syncope, cluster reduction, compresion, lenition, fortition, unpacking. In addition, there are morphological process in some loanwords which is changed the meaning and part of speech by adding suffixes. To sum up, the existence of English loanwords in Gorontalo Post Newspaper highly provided the establishment of Bahasa Indonesia. The process absorption had considered by linguist to accommodate the language changes, and enrich vocabulary whether in word formation, pronunciation, and the meaning.
