Abstract
Morpho-syntactic errors cover the issues of the language competence which reflect ignorance, misconception and also misuse of morphological rules of word formation and syntactical rules of grammatically correct sentence formation. This present study examines the grammatical errors on written English essays of final-year university students towards error analysis. It focuses on morpho-syntactic issues that lead to the grammatical errors and to investigate the factors which cause the errors. The data are obtained from the students' writing about particular topics which demand them to use their critical thinking and also interview. As the results, this research discovers that students make errors of Omission about plural marker (7.58%) and tense marker (9.10%), also addition (12.12%) and misspelling in Morphological level (8.58%). Further, Omission (20.20%), Addition (12.12%), Selection (36.86%)) and Misordering (2.02%) are the major errors found in Syntactical level. Surprisingly, carelessness, lack of vocabulary and translation are cause of the errors. Keywords: Morpho-syntactic, error analysis
