Pd and Co-Supervisor: Farid Muhammad, S.Pd, M.A. During the process of adaptation novel into film, there are a lot of intrinsic elements of the novel that changes, especially characters. Actually, the adaptation of the novel into a film affected the development event the changes on the characterization. In this study, the changes of the characterization of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen also exist when the novel adapted into film. In order to analyze the changes of characterization deeply, researcher used Archetype theory of Carl Gustav Jung. Then, researcher used ecranisation theory proposed by Eneste (1999) to look the adaptation from novel into film. He states that there are three main elements of ecranisation, they are removal, additional and variation change. Based on this case, this research analyzed by using descriptive method to describe the result of the analysis adaptation novel into film. On Bella Swan characterization, there are two variation change on her persona, one Additional on her shadow and one Removal on her animus. On Edward Cullen character, there are two Removal on his persona and two Additional on his self. Keywords: Archetype, Ecranisation
