Abstract

ABSTRACK Abdullah Wantu. 2017. Improving Students Listening Ablity by Applying Students Team Achevement Divisions ( STAD ) Method. ( A Study Conducted in Second Grade Students at SMP Negeri 1 Batudaa ). English Department, Letter and Culture Faculty, Gorontalo State University. Advisor: (1) Nurlaila Husain S.S, M.Pd (2) Rahmawati Mamu, S.Pd, M.Pd. This study conducted to see the process of Improving Students Listening Ability by Applying STAD (Students Teams Achievement Divisions) method for Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Batudaa. The subject of this research is Class VIII 1 of SMP Negeri 1 Batudaa that consisted of 23 students. This research deployed quantitative method. The method used to describe variables; To assess relationship between variables, and determine cause and effect interaction between variables. This study conducted through the following procedure of action research; Pre test, treatment, and post test. The result in this study indicate that there is improvement of the students' ability in listening in SMP Negeri 1 Batudaa. Key word: Listening for details, Students Team Achievement Division (STAD)
