Abstract
ABSTRACT Wiranda Jafar, 2016 The Use of Generative Learning Method to Improve Students' Speaking Ability, Letters and Culture Faculty, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Advisor (1) Nonny Basalama, M.A, Ph.D. Advisor (2) Titien F. Mohammad, S.Pd, M.App. Ling This research was aims to find out whether or not generative learning can improve students' speaking ability for the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Telaga, Gorontalo in the academic year 2014/2015. The research conducted by using pre-experimental with concern on applied pre-test, treatment, and posttest. The samples of this study were 30 students. By counting the score before and after the treatments, the result showed that tcount = 11.412 at the level of significance ( = 0,05 ) and degree of freedom (df) = 30-1 = 29 and tlist was 1.699. It can be concluded that the hypothesis "Generative Learning can improve students' speaking ability" was accepted. It is means that Generative Learning can improve students' Speaking ability.
