This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of errors by classifying verious types of morphological process on studentsâ research proposal. The participants of this study were ten high achievement students class of 2014 of English Department. The sources of data were studentsâ research proposals while the data were morphological errors found in studentsâ research proposals. The types of error in morphological process were grouped based on Dulay, Burt, and Krashenâs theory (1982) refering to eight types of inflectional morphology. Based on the analysis, this study found that there were three types of morphological errors based on Dulay, et.al (1982) theory; they were omission inflection error, addition inflection error, misformation inflection error. In accordance with the final result, this study found thirty five morphological errors on studentsâ research proposals, which omission errors were the highest frequency of error with twenty six time of occurrences, and then followed by addition errors with six times of occurrences, and the last with the lowest frequency of error were misformation errors with three times of occurrences. In the other hand, the influence of their first languages, carelessness, lack of knowledge, and over-generalization rules were the causes of error in morphological process.
