Abstract
ABSTRACT Silvana Lasundre. 321412033. 2016. Speech Error on Students' Academic Presentation (The research conducted of six students of English Education StudyProgram). Skripsi. English Department. Faculty of Letters and Culture. State University of Gorontalo. The Principal Supervisor is Dr. Suleman Bouti M.Hum. The Co-Supervisor is Fahria Malabar S.Pd., M.A. This research aimed at finding out the type of speech error that occur on students' presentation and find out the causes of speech error. The theory of Clark and Clark (1977) was used to lead for analyzing the data. Methodology of research was descriptive method. For the participant, this research used students in the sixth semester because they have passed speaking course from 1 until 4. Observation and interview were chosen as the techniques for collecting data. Analyzing the data was started by identifying, categorizing, and describe as the final step. From all participants, it was founded that there were 286 filled pauses and 154 repetitions. In addition, interjection were 32, 15 silent pause, 7 retraced falls starts, 6 un-retraced fall starts, 11 correction, 5 stutter and 1 slip of the tongue.
