Abstract
Abstract Lisnawati M. Hela. 321 412 063. 2017. A Descriptive Study on Students' Interest in Process of Learning Listening by Using Short Stories. Skripsi. English Education Study Program, Letters and Culture Faculty, Univesitas Negeri Gorontalo. It was supervised by Nurlaila Husain S.S, M.Pd and Helena Badu, S.Pd, M.Pd This study aims to describe the students' interest during learning listening process and the factors that influence students' interest in learning listening by using short stories. The major theory of this study is suggested by Richard and Slameto. The method of this study is qualitative method. Further, the data of this study have been collected from observation and questionnaire.The data also have been analyzed interactive model. Moreover, the result of this study discovers that the participants of 8a grade students of SMP N 1 Dulupi are interested during learning listening by using short stories. It was showed from the students' respons to the learning by giving attention, participation, readiness and they also could admit the material. The result also showed that the factor that most influence the students' interest is the internal factor. Keywords: Interest, Learning Listening, Short story.
