Abstract
Mastering English literature in both understanding and producing literary works such as poetry has been conducted as one of the common interests in learning English as a foreign language. In relation to optimizing students quality of learning, the teachers are expected to guide students in having a good knowledge and ability in creating their own literary work. This study aimed at investigating students perception in the implementation of corrective feedback strategy in the process composing their original poem as a final project of poetry subject. Rod Ellis (2009) explained that through feedback teachers can provide affective support that can help to motivate students to continue learning. The experiment was conducted within the students of English Department on 4th semester. The students were given questionnaires, then the data was analyzed by using thematic analysis as the part of qualitative research method. The analysis identified certain pattern and form of corrective feedback implemented by the lecturer along with supportive and positive responses from students related to overall improvements they made on their poem.
