The aim of this study is to find out the kinds of expressive illocutionary acts and their meaning represent find in "upside down" movie. This research use applies qualitative method. As the results there are 25 utterances contain expressive illocutionary find in "Upside Down" movie. The researcher find all types of expressive illocutionary by Searle's classification. The six types are: thanking find 6 utterances (24 %), apologizing involve 8 utterances (32 %), only 1 utterance (4 %) contain congratulating, greeting find 3 utterances (12%), wishing contain 3 utterances (12 %), attitude find 4 utterances (16 %). Based on the results, the most frequently use in Upside Down movie is expressive apologizing, and the least frequently used is expressive congratulating. Variation of expressive illocutionary is happend because of the status and the distance relationship between the speaker and the listener in the conversation. Additionally, this study can be used as reference for those who are interesting in doing research that concerning to pragmatics analysis.
